The AZE Young Poets Contest is an annual contest held in Nigeria, in honor of the Late Austin “Zero” Eke. It encourages poetry writing and bestows rewards on young poets in senior secondary school (SS. 1 – SS. 3). The best Poetry submissions will win cash prizes, international recognition and more. Prizes are at least N100,000 (1st Prize), N60,000 (2nd Prize) and N40,000 (3rd Prize).
Submissions will be accepted within 3 months, starting from November 19 Each Year until February 19 of the next year. The contest is open to students attending SS.1, SS.2 or SS.3 in Nigeria. Extra points for rural schools.

- Send submissions in PDF or WORD format to sebausfoundation@gmail.com
- Email Subject should be YOUR NAME and the POEM TITLE
- In Body of email or your document, include

- Academic Class
- Principal’s name
- We only accept submissions through the email address above.
- GROUP SUBMISSIONS FROM SCHOOLS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED: An entire School/Class/Group of students can submit their short handwritten poem on a sheet of paper along with the details listed above, to a designated school official /Principal /Literature teacher/Technology lab staff. The staff can then scan all submissions and email to sebausfoundation@gmail.com
- Please make sure your piece is in one of the following formats: .doc, .docx, or .pdf. Other document formats such as .rtf, .txt, and .pages are not acceptable. We also cannot access files sent from shared cloud services, such as Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive.
Number and Length of submissions:
Each individual entry has a ONE-page limit. The number of words is not fixed, but each work cannot exceed one typed page. All entries should be double-spaced, Preferred fonts are Courier New and Times New Roman.
Publishing:
NO PLAGIARISM. We do not accept entries that have been previously published. Please submit something new. Simultaneous submissions are allowed for our contest, but we ask that you notify us immediately if the piece is accepted elsewhere. We do not accept pieces that have received national publication or won other contests, so if the piece is accepted elsewhere, we will withdraw it from our contest.
